The speech of the Director General of the Authority, Dr. Fahd Sayah Al-Daihani
The General Authority for the Care of the Printing and Publication of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah and Their Sciences is a governmental entity established by law in 2011. It has been entrusted with numerous significant missions and objectives related to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, including printing, publishing, and promoting the culture of the Quran and the honorable Sunnah. The Authority has faced various stages and challenges that delayed its strong launch. However, since my appointment as Director General in February 2019, we have reorganized the Authority’s operations and priorities. We have engaged with more than 50 academic and research institutions worldwide and met with over 150 prominent scholars in the fields of the Quran and Sunnah. It was essential to conduct thorough studies and surveys of the current landscape before proceeding, ensuring we build upon the progress of those before us.
With God’s grace, we have developed a strategic plan centered on printing and distributing the Holy Quran. Accordingly, we recognized the necessity of establishing a printing press in Kuwait to serve the Quran domestically and supply it internationally. This aligns with the founding law of the Authority, which mandates not only serving the Quran in Kuwait but also meeting the needs of Muslims worldwide. Thus, the idea of establishing a printing press in Kuwait was conceived, and a site spanning 27,000 square meters in the Subhan area has been designated for this purpose.
Additionally, Kuwait will host the world’s largest museum dedicated to the life, biography, and relics of the noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The museum, covering an area of approximately 25,000 square meters in the Mubarak Al-Abdullah area, will feature 14 halls showcasing glimpses of the Prophet’s life and noble character in multiple languages. It will also include rare manuscripts related to the Prophet and various copies of the Holy Quran.
